Albert Franco, MD,

is a board certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist.  Dr. Franco earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Brown University.  While at Brown University Dr. Franco played goalkeeper for the men’s soccer team.  Dr. Franco went onto attend the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for medical school and completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at St. Barnabas Medical Center.  Following residency he completed his fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center.

Prior to joining Boston MFM Dr. Franco was Associate Professor and Associate Director of Charlotte Fetal Care Center at Carolinas Medical Center which specializes in caring for fetuses with complications necessitating in-utero therapy.  During this time Dr. Franco was also a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of North Carolina School of Medicine.  Dr. Franco was named to Top Doctors North Carolina from 2010-2013.

Dr. Franco’s interests include multiple pregnancies and its complications, preterm labor, inflammation and in-utero procedures such as Percutaneous Umbilical Blood Sampling and In-Utero Transfusions.

He enjoys playing soccer and fitness.  Dr. Franco enjoys spending his free time with his wife and six year-old twins.  He speaks Spanish.
